If the Voting Age was raised to say-25-Would more Competent Voters Elect more Capable people?
The young voters elected many bad presidents--Johnson, Carter, Clinton --and now Obama...who appeal to ideological issues not facts--and starry eyed youth--21-22 yrs old--who have been under the wing of parents-never worked hard for a meal--given everything plus a car-apt and all they need--.
How can anyone who has no life experience be a good citizen and capable of choosing anyone for public office when the youth--have never been in public jobs? and working pt for mcdonald during school isn't a real job..
what about it? 25 yrs and older might make more informed choices? In australia if you don't vote--you're fined and after 8 yrs if you don't vote -they suspend your right to vote.

I think there should be several requirement for voting, and yes, raising the age should be one of them.
People should have to demonstrate a rudimentary understanding of how our government and political system works. (If they don't know that the President appoints Supreme Court Justices, then they have no business voting.)
People should have a basic understanding of current issues. (If they don't know that Marxism and Islamic laws restrict freedom, they have no business voting.)
People should be pulling the wagon, not riding on it! (People who are supported by the system rather than paying taxes, have NO business voting!!)
Now you may argue that under these restrictions, Republicans would win every election every time.
Of course. I refer you back to the original question. Electing more capable people!
