G-Tube Babies?
Does anyone have a baby or child that has or has had a G-Tube (mic key button). My daughter has one because she can't protect her airway to eat by mouth yet. She will be 1 in November. I was just wondering how long other kids have had them? And if they can eat by mouth at all? She also has a nissen fundoplication.
I don't have personal experience with a fundo or G-Tube; but know many who do. I belong to a support group for children with special needs and disabilities (b/c my daughter has Cerebral Palsy) and there are many parents there whose children who have one or the other, or both. Some (if not most) of them were born prematurely. I can tell you that some are eating orally; while others are still having a difficult time at the age of 2 or so.
