What can I do about my sore feet?
I work at a restaurant where I stand and/or walk most of the day. I wear converse because they're the best I have and that fit the job's dress standards. (can't really afford new ones, and I can't wear athletic shoes like walking or running shoes) Every day after work, my feet are so sore. I wear cushy socks and sometimes insoles, but I don't know what else I can do to prevent my feet from hurting at the end of every day, or how to soothe them after work. Any suggestions??

First of all I am sorry that you have this pain which prevents you working normally.
I would say that general soreness is "normal" for this kind of job, however in your case there must be more to it because you have pain every day.
I think it has to do with your foot "type".
In order to understand your condition better and to give you a better diagnosis please answer these questions:
1) Can you be more specific about soreness? Do you have a part of the foot that hurts more than others?
2) Do you have any kind of heel pain?

4) Is there any redness or bruising visible?
5) Do you have "extra" pain when you first get up in the morning and take a few steps?
6) Does the soreness/pain go away after resting?
Here are a few things you can do right now:
1) Massage your feet at the end of every shift.
2) Ice your feet, either by applying ice directly or by rolling a frozen bottle under your foot when you sit down.
3) Try to stand on some sort of padding at work (rug of some sorts).
4) Buy over the counter gel inserts to wear in your shoes.
