David Letterman is such a sharp dresser but what gives with the white socks?
Sock makers manufacture cotton socks in colors other than white if he feels he needs to wear cotton. I've even seen socks with a white sole while the rest of the sock is a blend that stays up well and looks good with a suite.
White socks and his double-breasted pin-striped suits just look goofy.
I have always thought they were gray. I've recently wondered the same thing, same with why the low loafers! Perhaps it's just an affectation of his... if he MUST wear a suit, then he wasn't going to give up 'casual' altogether...
